Mex@Penn and the Mexican Cultural Center would like to extend an invitation to attend Convergencias 2010: After the Crisis...challenges and opportunities.
Convergencias is the annual pan-university conference of the challenges and opportunities that Mexico faces for its development. For a second year in a row, we are bringing some of the most prominent and influential Mexican academics, politicians and businessmen to campus. This year the speakers are:
Luis Tellez Kuenzler; President of the Mexican Stock Exchange
Mauricio Rodas Espinel; Director of the Ethos Foundation
Jose Castillo; PennDesign professor
Jorge Suarez-Vélez; Head of private wealth management ING
Francisco Barrio; Mexican Ambassador to Canada
Manuel Lombera; Former Consul of Philadelphia and political science professor at Temple
The event will take place February 20, 2010 in John M Hunstman Hall F60 from 8.30am to 5.30pm. If you are want to attend one or two of the panels you can do so at a special rate ($5). For the full conference, including breakfast and lunch, the ticket is $15.

The Mexican Cultural Center is a 501 (c) non profit organization devoted to promoting understanding and awareness of the cultural and artistic diversity of Mexico and its influence in the Delaware Valley in the United States.
The Center is a supporter of the increasing Mexican Community in Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware and serves as a networking hub for those interested in Mexican Culture.
The MCC is supported by contributions from corporations, individuals, memberships and self generated revenue.
The Center works closely with the Mexican Consulate in Philadelphia but does not receive government funding.

El Centro Cultural Mexicano es una organización 501 (c) sin fines de lucro dedicada a promover el entendimiento e interés de la diversidad cultural y artística de México, así como de su influencia en la cuenca del Delaware en los Estados Unidos de América.
El Centro apoya a la creciente comunidad Mexicana en las regiones del este de Pensilvania, Delaware y el Sur de Nueva Jersey y sirve como centro de relaciones para toda persona interesada en la cultura mexicana.
El MCC opera gracias a contribuciones corporativas e individuales, servicios de apoyo al Consulado y por membrecías.
El Centro trabaja de cerca con el Consulado de México en Filadelfia mas no recibe financiamiento gubernamental.
